Paine Farm

Bar Harbor

The Paine family owned and operated the farm for over 50 years before Willis C. Paine took over. His bottle (see photo below) is the only known example associated with the farm. In 1907, Willis sold the property to the Shea Brothers, skilled masons who built the Stone Barn that same year to showcase their masonry skills. Willis is also mentioned below in the Farm Owner’s History. Today, the farm is preserved by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and features trails open for public use.

Other Names Associated With This Dairy: W. C. Paine, Stone Barn
